GROWING FOR COMMUNITY

Fresh and sustainable, from our garden to your table - Mother Bear's Garden

Mother Bear's Garden is a family-owned micro-farm of about 2 acres, located in Six Nations and known for its small-scale, regenerative agriculture practices. We are dedicated to producing a wide range of organic vegetables and berries through minimal tillage, multi-cropping, and human-powered methods.

Mission: Our mission is to provide the community with clean, sustainably grown produce, which we sell through community programs, local markets, and select stores during the growing season at retail prices.

Vision: Our vision is to encourage and empower more people in Six Nations to grow and contribute to a strong, sustainable local food system, while increasing access to healthy, nutritious food in the community.

Values
Sustainism is at the core of our values, from that we base all decisions around 4 specific values:

Centering around collaboration and exchange for inclusive skill-building

In a time when everyone is always connected, our focus is on building connections between the natural process’, the environment and each other.

Focusing on local experiences and belonging inspiring a sense of place, nearness and community building

Shifting focus away from a “bigger is better” mentality towards selective sizing to match a sustainable, human scale that mutually benefits the Earth and the farmer.
